The first song I wrote since I was a kid. Inspired by a post-therapy-session ache that persisted for days. About the weight and relief of unsolvable problems.

Lyrics

When my voice won’t carry cause my lungs are missing air.
When there’s no right answer but the puzzle’s always there.
When the truth I put my faith in turns up rotten
Makes a man feel lost, makes a boy feel forgotten.

Like filling up a glass to drink the ocean.
Like jumping off a hill to reach the moon.
Like a paper plane in a downpour of emotion.
I cannot find a way from me to you.

When one’s too angry and the other’s frozen scared.
When the mouths are hungry and the table is too bare
When the pile of broken dreams and things gets taller.
Makes a man feel small, and makes a boy feel smaller.

Like filling up a glass to drink the ocean.
Like jumping off a hill to reach the moon.
Like a paper plane in a downpour of emotion.
I cannot find a way from me to you.

Still makes my heart stop.
‘Cross years and miles
I’ll hold you close
And say good-bye.

Interlude

Like filling up a glass to drink the ocean.
Like jumping off a hill to reach the moon.
Like a paper plane in a downpour of emotion.
I cannot find a way from me to you.
